Four new COVID cases reported in Grey Highlands yesterday

There are now five active cases of COVID in Grey Highlands, the most reported for any Grey or Bruce County municipality as of Nov. 8

The Grey Bruce Health Unit reported four new cases of COVID-19 in Grey Highlands yesterday, which is a 30 per cent jump in the total confirmed cases for the municipality. 

The health unit reported a total of six new cases over the weekend. Other than the Grey Highlands cases, there were two new cases reported in Kincardine. 

There have now been 17 cases of COVID-19 reported in Grey Highlands residents, and there are five active cases in the municipality, according to the health unit. 

Grey Highlands has the most active cases of any Grey Bruce municipality as of yesterday’s (Nov. 8) report. 

The Grey Bruce Health Unit has reported a total of 190 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and has reported 180 of those cases as recovered. There are 10 active cases across Grey and Bruce Counties, and there have been no COVID-related deaths reported in the region.

The ten active cases in the region include five in Grey Highlands, one in Owen Sound, one in Southgate, and three in Kincardine. Nobody is hospitalized with the coronavirus in the region, according to the health unit.

There are no active outbreaks in any long-term care facilities, daycares or schools in GBHU.

And, GBHU continues to be one of the only health units in Ontario to have no deaths as a result of COVID-19.

Contact tracing of GBHU cases is currently exceeding provincial targets with 100 per cent of all cases contacted within 24-hours, reported the health unit.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Grey County included - Owen Sound (65); Southgate (18); Meaford (13); Grey Highlands (17); West Grey (10); Blue Mountains (9); Hanover (3); Georgian Bluffs (2); Chatsworth (1). Bruce County has had 52 confirmed cases.
