Centennial Aquatic Centre should be reopening on Thursday.

According to a notice posted on the town's website, the pool will reopen to the public on Oct. 17. Fall swimming lessons are delayed one week, but the program will not lose a week in the overall program schedule.

The pool has been closed since Sept. 1 for what was supposed to be three weeks of annual maintenance.

However, during maintenance, crews discovered a drainage issue requiring more budget and time to repair.

According to a previous staff report to council, there was water collecting beneath the tiles in the changeroom area and in order to fix it the floors had to be replaced and additional drains had to be installed.

"Staff are committed to ensuring that the facility operates at the highest standard possible and that our stakeholders are protected and cared for at all times," states the notice posted on the town's site.
