Health unit reports a new case of COVID in The Blue Mountains today

This is the second confirmed case of COVID reported in TBM in the past five days

Grey Bruce Health Unit is reporting one new case of COVID-19 in the Town of the Blue Mountains (TBM) today.

There have been a total of seven cases of COVID reported in TBM since the onset of the pandemic. This is the second new case reported in TBM since Friday.

The first case of COVID in TBM was reported on April 27, and prior to the Aug. 7 report, the community has not seen a new case of COVID reported since May 13.

The Grey Bruce region currently has four active cases of COVID-19, with 125 cases reported to date. According to the health unit, 115 cases have recovered and six have been referred to other health units.

GBHU remains as one of the only health units in Ontario to continue to have no deaths as a result of COVID and only two cases that required hospitalization.

There are currently no long-term care facilities reporting an outbreak.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases in Grey County include - Owen Sound (52); Southgate (16); West Grey (8); Blue Mountains (7); Grey Highlands (6); Meaford (4); Georgian Bluffs (2); Hanover (2); Chatsworth (1). Bruce County currently has 27 confirmed cases.
