First COVID-19 case confirmed in The Blue Mountains

The Grey Bruce Health Unit has reported two new cases of COVID-19 in the region

The Town of the Blue Mountains (TBM) has its first confirmed case of COVID-19.

In the daily situation report from Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU), two new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Grey Bruce in the past 24 hours - one case in TBM and another in Kincardine.

To date, GBHU reports 74 confirmed cases, with 35 of those cases being recovered.

Owen Sound has seen the majority of the cases so far, with 44, which includes cases in the long-term care or retirement home facilities.

West Grey and Southgate currently have five confirmed cases; the municipality of Grey Highlands currently has three, and there is one confirmed case in both Meaford and the Georgian Bluffs.

Of the 75 confirmed cases in Grey Bruce, 21 of them are health care workers and two long-term care facilities in the region have a known COVID-19 outbreak (Maple View nursing home in Owen Sound and Sepoy Manor retirement home in Lucknow).

GBHU confirms community spread is occurring across the entire county, and the Infectious Disease Team continues to monitor cases, contact management, reporting, and responding to COVID-19 related calls.
