The Municipality of Grey Highlands will be flushing its various sewer systems in the coming days.
Grey Highlands has announced that throughout the week of Oct. 30 to Nov. 3, 2023, Foster Sewer Services will be completing the annual sewer flushing program. This will include the east side of Markdale users, all Amik (Kimberley) users and all Flesherton users. The municipality said that no interruptions are expected to individual sewer services.
Flushing activities are scheduled daily between 6:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The sewer truck is very large, and the sound may be heard inside the homes of residents while Foster works in the area. The municipality noted that if vent stacks in a home are blocked or partially obstructed, air may come up through a toilet or sink, resulting in splashing or noise.
