A public meeting revealed no objections to a proposed new metal shop to be located in Grey Highlands near McIntyre.

On Oct. 23, Grey Highlands council held a public meeting to hear any comments or concerns about a proposal to rezone a McIntyre-area property to allow a new "on-farm diversified use" operation.

The property is located at Lot 28, Concession 4 in the former Osprey Township.

If approved, the application would change the zoning on the property from agricultural to rural commercial. The rezoning would permit a 250-metre metal working shop that will involve the fabrication, manufacturing and storage of metal cylinders that will be used for hydraulic and pneumatic devices.

The proposal also includes a 250-metre outdoor storage area.

The public meeting on the rezoning generated no comments or concerns from the community at large or council.

Abdullah Pasha, the Grey Highlands planner on the file, said commenting agencies such as Grey County and the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority had no concerns with the proposal.

The application will be sent to a future council meeting for a final decision.
