Grey County declares significant weather event

Grey County warns it may take longer to bring roads back to optimal conditions

Grey County has declared a significant weather event due to current and forecast conditions that are impacting county-owned roads.

The county made the announcement in a media release sent out on Dec. 22.

“We will provide an update once the significant weather event has been declared over,” the release says.

This declaration of a significant weather event isn’t anotice of a reduced level of service or a road closure. It is to notify the public that due to the current or forecasted conditions, caution is to be observed when travelling on roads maintained by Grey County. It may take longer than usual to bring the roads back to optimal conditions.

Please use caution and allow yourself extra time to reach your destination. The county urges the public to visit the roads update website for the most up-to-date Grey County road conditions.
