Could the Municipality of Grey Highlands one day be the home of a new provincial park?

One member of Grey Highlands council thinks so. At council’s meeting on Nov. 1, Coun. Joel Loughead raised the possibility of pursuing a provincial park for the community.

Speaking during a councillor announcements segment of the agenda, Loughead said he would like the topic to come to the council table for a discussion/debate and possibly be the topic of a delegation with provincial officials at the upcoming Rural Ontario Municipalities Association conference.

“I think it’s a real possibility with a lot of potential, said Loughead, who noted that he has ideas about where a provincial park could be located. “I can’t say too much more.”

Loughead said he’d like to discuss the idea more thoroughly at the council table in order to reveal more information.
