Police have concluded the investigation into a fire that destroyed storage units full of tires at a local tire shop and haven't issued any charges related to the fire.

The fire broke out at Tire Guys on Beachwood Road late in the afternoon on Nov. 13. It was the second fire in three days at the location. The first fire was smaller and happened on Saturday, Nov. 11 also in the afternoon.

The two similar fires prompted Deputy Fire Chief Stephen Emo to note they were possibly suspicious. He called both the Ontario Fire Marshal's office and the ministry of the environment to inform them of the fires.

Police were also investigating the Monday afternoon fire.

Const. Martin Hachey, spokesperson for the Collingwood detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, confirmed on Nov. 15 the investigation had wrapped up without charges.

He said an officer on the scene of the fire Monday took a statement from the employee who discovered the blaze.

"As well, the officer looked into getting video footage for the incident and assisted with blocking traffic to assist fire crews on scene," said Hachey.

He noted the OPP were not called for the first fire on Saturday.

"We did investigate the second blaze while at scene, but it appears to be completed at this time with no mention of it being suspicious in nature," said Hachey.

Deputy Chief Emo said there were no further updates from the fire department at this time.
