The lead lawyer in the judicial inquiry has left her job as inquiry counsel for Superior Court appointment.

Lead Commission Counsel Janet Leiper is now Justice Leiper, a judge in the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario.

According to an announcement posted on the website for the Collingwood judicial inquiry there will not be an interruption as a new lawyer has been appointed lead counsel.

Inquiry judge Frank Marrocco named Kate McGrann as lead counsel to replace Leiper.

The judicial inquiry is an investigation into the 2012 sale of Collus to Powerstream and the subsequent decisions on where and how to spend the money the town earned for the sale.
