Collingwood General and Marine Hospital is hiring, and among the positions posted is COVID-19 Response Team. The hospital says it is keeping a skills list and is encouraging retired or newly graduated health care workers to reach out and add their name to the list if they are interested in being part of the team.

Ontario reported an additional 478 lab-confirmed cases today, bringing the provincial total to 6,257. There are now 222 deaths reported related to COVID-19 in Ontario and there have been 2,574 recoveries.

In Collingwood, there have been three residents test positive for COVID-19. A man in his 50s is now reported recovered. A man in his 30s and another man in his 50s are self-isolating at home. Both acquired the virus through community transmission.

The Government of Ontario has partnered with SPARK Ontario to create a hub designed to connect volunteers to needs in their communities. Volunteer opportunities include helping deliver food or medicine, running errands, or checking up on seniors via phone or email.

The Town of Collingwood also developed an online sign-up sheet intended to build a Collingwood Together network of volunteers. You can sign up here.

Local health and wellness practitioners and trainers have not stopped teaching movement, exercise, and meditation classes. Many of the classes are free online. Find out more about what’s available from Collingwood trainers here.
