The following letter was sent in response to a previous letter suggesting the government should not be building long-term-care homes.
Regarding Bill Carty’s letter opposing the construction of long-term care “institutions,” I’d like to know what alternative solutions he has in mind.
I believe more long-term care homes should be a key part of society’s handling of older citizens who need daily care.
Some privately owned retirement homes are hugely expensive ($100,000 a year), excluding many of those of us in greatest need.
