COVID-19: Here's the situation in Collingwood today

There are at least two patients at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital with COVID-19. 

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit confirmed today there are two lab-confirmed cases hospitalized locally. There have been a total of 12 confirmed cases in Collingwood residents. One person has since left the region, and seven people have recovered. One Collingwood resident is hospitalized. 

There have been 11 cases confirmed in Wasaga Beach, and of those five people have recovered and one person has died. In Clearview there have been six cases. Two people have recovered and one person is in hospital. 

Ontario reported 477 new cases of COVID-19 today, as well as 63 deaths and 421 recoveries. 

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau confirmed today the federal government is extending the Emergency Wage Subsidy beyond June in the hopes it will help kickstart the economy and boost job creation.

Yesterday, a group of Collingwood residents arranged a surprise birthday parade for Betty Reid on her 90th birthday. You can read about the parade here.
