Fire Ban In Effect for the Town of The Blue Mountains

The Town of The Blue Mountains Fire Department would like to advise the public that a total fire ban has been implemented across the municipality as of Thursday, June 8. The ban will remain in effect until further notice.

The ban includes all fires, fireworks, and open-air burning, including small personal fires for cooking or warmth previously allowed under the 'high risk' fire hazard rating. Residents may continue to use gas, propane, and charcoal barbecues.

The region is currently experiencing decreased air quality due to the wildfires across Canada. Grey Bruce Public Health is advising residents to take measures to protect their health and reduce exposure to wildfire smoke.
