TBM announces town hall closed on Thanksgiving Monday

The Town of The Blue Mountains has advised residents of upcoming service changes due to the Thanksgiving Long Weekend. 

Town hall in Thornbury will be closed on Monday, October 10, for the Thanksgiving holiday. Town hall will re-open with regular hours on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

Thanksgiving Holiday curbside waste collection will occur as usual on Monday, October 10,  and for the remainder of the week. Operations staff have provided additional reminders regarding collection:

  • Bag limit weekly - first bag/can is free, the second bag must be tagged.
  • Garbage, Compost and Recycling must be curbside by 7:00 a.m.
  • All material placed in your garbage and compost must be bagged.
  • Sort the grey and blue recycling bins according to the Waste Resource Guide.
  • Cardboard is flattened, cut into 18" x 24" size and placed next to your recycle bins.
  • Ensure your garbage box Full/Empty tab is visible to the collection company
  • Solid Waste Disposal Site Hours: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Curbside yard waste collection begins Oct. 24 and runs to Nov. 17 on a home’s day of collection, with a maximum of 10 bags, or containers (without a lid) per week. Residents are asked to have waste placed curbside by 7 a.m.

The “TBM Waste Resource App” is available for download from Apple and Android. Information about waste collection can be accessed on the town's Garbage, Recycling and Waste website.

All essential services will continue to operate throughout the holiday weekend. Online services are available 24/7 on the Town website.
