Community organizations in the Town of The Blue Mountains can now make applications to the Environmental Sustainability Fund.

The town has advised local groups that applications to the fund are now being accepted.

This fund has an allocation of $5,000 that will be split between the successful applications which demonstrate a clear goal of advancing environmental sustainability within the town.

This year’s fund builds on previous successful recipients, with the most recent recipient being Tree Trust The Blue Mountains, which undertook a tree planting event and helped to purchase and plant backyard trees in 2022.

In previous years, Tree Trust received funding for a local tree sapling project in 2020, and the Thornbury Community Gardens and Beaver River Watershed Initiative projects received funding in 2019.

Interested community organizations wishing to apply must submit their application no later than Monday, Nov. 14, at 11:59 p.m. To learn more about the town’s Environmental Sustainability Fund and to apply, please visit the website for more details and information.
