The 2024 budget season is about to begin for Grey County council.
The county has announced the dates for the 2024 budget debates and approval.
County council will hold special committee of the whole meetings on the budget situation on Dec. 8 and Dec. 15. Both meetings will start at 10 a.m. and will be held in the county council chambers in Owen Sound. Meetings will also be live streamed at the county’s YouTube channel and website here.
At the Dec. 8 meeting, county staff will present a corporate budget overview and background information on the 2023 budget. At the Dec. 15 meeting, the draft 2024 budget will be presented for consideration and debate. Should council proceed with recommending approval of the 2024 draft budget on Dec. 15, the budget bylaw will come to council at the Jan. 11 meeting of county council for approval. The Jan. 11 meeting starts at 10 a.m.
