Four new COVID cases reported in the Blue Mountains this weekend

The health unit is reporting 26 new cases in Grey and Bruce since Thursday

The Grey Bruce Health Unit (GBHU) has recorded 26 new cases of COVID-19 in the region since Thursday, including four new cases in the Town of the Blue Mountains (TBM). 

The health unit has reported a total of 858 cases in the region to date. There are 66 active cases in both counties combined. 

Active cases in Grey County are currently located in Owen Sound (15), Southgate (4), the Town of The Blue Mountains (13), Hanover (4), Chatsworth (6) and Georgian Bluffs (3).   

GBHU is also reporting the region has had a total of 53 cases of variants of concern (VOC), 17 of which are active. 

The health unit is currently tracking 479 high-risk contacts associated with active cases.

There have been four deaths due to COVID-19 in Grey and Bruce combined, and there are currently four individuals being hospitalized due to the virus - two locally and two outside of Grey-Bruce.   

The health unit continues to manage an outbreak at the Owen Sound Hospital that was initially reported on March 19

Of GBHU’s 858 cumulative cases, 788 cases are resolved.

Resolved COVID-19 cases in Grey County include: Owen Sound (129); Southgate (102); Grey Highlands (75); West Grey (49); Blue Mountains (63); Hanover (48); Meaford (26); Georgian Bluffs (8); Chatsworth (12).
