Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Alex Ruff is hosting a meeting to discuss the housing crisis.

Ruff has invited local community stakeholders to a housing meeting at the Sydenham Campus in Owen Sound on Thursday, September 1 from 1 - 3 p.m.

“As has been highlighted across the region on more than one occasion, we have a housing/rental challenge. I’ve been impressed by some of the ingenuity shown by individual municipalities in trying to solve some of the challenges; however, it’s evident that this challenge transcends all levels of government, the private sector, and not-for-profit communities. Therefore, a collaborative approach is required,” Ruff said in a statement announcing the meeting.

Ruff said the goal of the meeting is to have stakeholders together in the same room to share ideas, clearly identify some of the key challenges and recommend short to mid-term solutions.

The meeting will be held in the gymnasium of the Sydenham Campus located at 1130 8th Street East in Owen Sound. Ruff said those unable to attend in person can contact his office by email at [email protected] for information on how to attend virtually.
