Extracurricular activities are set to resume in schools across the Bluewater District School Board.

The Bluewater board kept schools open during the CUPE strike on Friday and Monday, but suspended extracurriculars and community events held at school locations.

With the CUPE strike coming to an end, the board announced the resumption of extracurricular events.

“We are encouraged by today’s announcement, which ensures that our schools will continue to remain open to students. Extra-curricular activities and child care/before and after care programs in schools will resume,” said Director of Education Lori Wilder in a letter sent out to all parents on Monday, Nov. 7.

Wilder said updates on new developments would be available through SchoolMessenger and the board’s social media page and website.

“Thank you again for your patience, support, and cooperation during these times,” she said.
