Wasaga woman who posted video of herself gets arrested for mischief

The accused was on camera telling people off for parking near her house, police say

TOWN OF WASAGA BEACH – On Aug. 26, 2020 members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began to investigate after a video surfaced on social media depicting an irate woman berating people for parking near her house.  

The video, from Aug. 22, 2020, was posted by the suspect onto a social media platform. Police have viewed the video and interviewed those involved.

As a result of the on-going investigation police have arrested and charged Brooke Ward, 21 years old, of the Town of Wasaga Beach with: 

  • Mischief  
  • Uttering threats  
  • Causing a Disturbance 
  • Fail to comply with terms of release

Once the accused was brought into custody, she began to show signs of medical distress and was transported to hospital. Police advised the Provinces Special Investigations Unit (SIU), who have invoked their mandate.
