Wasaga man charged with impaired driving

SPRINGWATER - Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Nov. 2, regarding a vehicle that was driving erratically in the area of Horseshoe Valley Road and Highway 26. Officers located the vehicle just after 4 p.m. and apprehended the driver.

Trevor Schaeffer (age 49) of Wasaga Beach, Ont. was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration-80 plus
  • Operation while impaired-alcohol
  • Dangerous Driving

The accused had their driver's license suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on Nov. 30, 2021.
