THE BLUE MOUNTAINS - Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a motorist this morning for impaired driving after receiving a traffic complaint on Highway 26.

This morning at approximately 9:15 a.m. officers were called to the area of Highway 26 and Grey Road 19 for a possible impaired driver last seen eastbound on Highway 26.

The vehicle was subsequently located where a vehicle stop revealed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol which led to a roadside breath test resulting in a 'fail' reading. The motorist was arrested and transported to detachment for processing.

Charged is 43 year-old Shayne Cooke of Collingwood, he is charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration and is to appear on Sept. 10, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood.
