Three people charged with impaired driving in Collingwood

Members of the Collingwood & Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in three separate impaired driving investigations in Collingwood.

 On June 4, the Collingwood & Blue Mountains OPP initiated a traffic investigation on St Marie Street in Collingwood. As a result of the roadside investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired operation over 80. At the OPP Detachment, breath tests determined that she was over twice the legal limit.

As a result, Sophie Damsa, 19, from Thornbury, has been charged with:

  •  Impaired driving over 80
  •  Driving under suspension

About an hour later, in a separate incident, Collingwood & Blue Mountains OPP stopped a vehicle on Elm Street in Collingwood for a traffic incident. The driver was arrested for impaired driving over 80.

Fraser Cameron, 45, from Collingwood, has been charged with:

  • Impaired driving over 80
  • Possession of a substance

In the third incident in the early morning of June 6, Collingwood & Blue Mountains OPP stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on First Street in Collingwood. The male driver was impaired by alcohol and was arrested. Breath tests determined that he was over twice the legal limit.

Bradley Langlois, 22, from Wasaga Beach, has been charged with:

  • Impaired driving over 80
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drug

The driver's licences of the accused drivers have been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded for seven days. They will later appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood.
