Three charged after alleged robbery during test drive

Police say victim in Springwater forced from vehicle that was advertised for sale online

Three people are facing charges after allegedly stealing a vehicle during what was supposed to be a test drive in Springwater Township.

On Monday at about 4:10 p.m., Huronia West OPP received a report of a vehicle theft in the area of Sunnidale Road and Wilson Drive.

When officers arrived, the victim told them the vehicle had been advertised for sale online and, during a test drive, the suspects forced the victim out of the vehicle. No injuries were reported.

At about 11:45 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP officers spotted the vehicle being driven in Beeton, and three occupants were arrested. 

A 21-year-old Mississauga woman has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. She was released from custody and has a court date in May in Bradford.

A 24-year-old Brampton man has been charged with robbery with violence, theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He was held pending a bail hearing.

A 23-year-old Brampton man has been charged with robbery with violence, theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, flight from a peace officer, disobeying a court order, and dangerous operation. He was held pending a bail hearing.
