On Dec. 29, 2021 at approximately 1:20 a.m., Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Highway 21, in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.
Officers spoke with the driver of a motor vehicle, and detected signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest, and transported to a police detachment where further tests were administered.
Grey Bruce OPP have charged Garrett Harbottle, 32 years-of-age, from the Town of Blue Mountains with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired by drug, and
- Drive motor vehicle - no licence.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on Feb. 3, 2021.
