Stayner man killed in Richmond Hill car crash Sunday

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a fatal motor vehicle collision in the City of Richmond Hill.  

On May 22, 2022, at approximately 9:30 p.m., York Regional Police were called to the intersection of Highway 7 East and Silver Linden Drive for reports of a serious vehicle collision between a 2020 white Acura and 2018 Yamaha motorcycle.

The driver of the vehicle, a 22-year-old female from Vaughan, was not injured.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 28-year-old man from Stayner, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and was sadly pronounced deceased shortly after.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police or anyone who may have dashcam footage or video surveillance of the collision, to please come forward. Investigators have opened a digital evidence portal where members of the community can upload any photos, video surveillance or dashcam footage of the collision. The investigation in ongoing, no charges have been laid at this time.
