Stayner man charged in connection with Tire Guys fires

A 20-year-old man from Stayner has been arrested in connection with multiple fires at Tire Guys in Collingwood last month, according to an OPP news release.

Police and fire crews were called to the Beachwood Road business on Nov. 11, 13, and 26 for fires that burned up tires stored outdoors and in storage containers. 

There were no injuries in any of the fires. 

Collingwood OPP confirmed after the third fire they had launched an arson investigation. 

Today, Dec. 2, police announced an arrest had been made. 

Gabriel Talbot, of Stayner, has been charged with two counts of arson, contrary to section 434 of the Criminal Code.

The accused was held for bail, appeared before Provincial Court on Dec. 2, and was released on conditions.
