UPDATE: Police close Hwy 26 in Thornbury after fatal crash involving motorcycle and cyclist

A collision between a bicycle and motorcycle in Thornbury today had fatal consequences, as police have now confirmed the cyclist died. 

The collision occurred on Highway 26 at Grey Road 113 at about 9:30 a.m. this morning (May 9).

Police report the cyclist was taken to a local hospital and was pronounced dead. The name of the cyclist has not yet been released. 

Highway 26 between 11th line and Peel Street remains closed as of 3 p.m. on May 9 as OPP complete their investigation of the scene. At 6:45 p.m., police announced the road was reopened.
