Police use fingerprint to arrest man after break-and-enter

Several stolen items are still unrecovered after a break-and-enter in October and an arrest recently

Police arrested a man on Jan. 11 in relation to a break-and-enter investigation that began in October. 

Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police responded to a break-and-enter at a storage shed at a seasonal property on Grey Road 12 in Grey Highlands on October 13, 2023. 

Police announced today they arrested a 20-year-old West Grey man on Jan. 11, 2024 in connection with the burglary. Police confirmed an officer found a fingerprint at the scene and sent it to a forensic lab for processing, the arrest was the result of this discovery. 

The list of stolen items includes the following:

  • Yamaha Grizzly ATV - has been recovered.
  • Toolbox containing various tools - still outstanding
  • Skeet shooter - still outstanding
  • 2L container of motor oil - still outstanding
  • 4X6 foot homemade trailer - still outstanding

The accused is charged with break, enter a place - commit indictable offence and will face the charges in court in Owen Sound on Feb. 8.
