A Wasaga Beach driver is facing multiple charges after police found duct tape holding together the leaf springs of a commercial vehicle, and tires missing multiple lug nuts and studs.

The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) pulled over a commercial vehicle in Thornbury on June 21 at about 1:30 p.m. as part of a commercial vehicle blitz in partnership with Blue Mountains and Grey Bruce OPP with the Ministry of Transportation Ontario.

Photos from OPP show the duct tape holding together the leaf springs, which are part of the vehicle suspension. Another photo shows a tire missing three of eight lug nuts and the studs.

Police have charged a 46-year-old driver from Wasaga Beach with operating an unsafe vehicle, failing to display proof of inspection, driving an overweight vehicle, and driving a vehicle with an improper braking system.

The driver will face the charges in court in Owen Sound on July 26.
