Police seek help identifying thief who broke into apartment buildings

Culprit stole money from coin-operated washing machines/dryers at two different apartment complexes

MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD - Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect responsible for recent criminal acts in the Municipality of Meaford.

On March 20, 2019, Grey County OPP were called to investigate after an unknown person had forcibly entered an apartment complex located on Parker Street in Meaford just before 1 a.m. that morning.

Once inside the building the suspect went to the laundry room and pried open the coin operated washing machines and dryers. The suspect left the building with an undisclosed amount of coins.

On March 22, 2019, Grey County OPP received similar incident reports that occurred at an apartment complex located on Sykes Street North and on Thompson Street in Meaford.

Police have obtained a surveillance video and are asking the public's assistance in identifying the female suspect. (Photographs attached)

The investigations are ongoing. Anyone with information which may assist is asked to call Grey County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
