Police look for driver who backed into light pole in Meaford

Police released these two images of a suspect they say failed to remain at the scene after backing into a light standard with a vehicle.

Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have asked for public assistance to identify a driver police say failed to remain on scene after backing into a light post in Meaford. 

OPP reported the incident happened on Nov. 3 on Boucher Street East in Meaford. 

"Officers arrived on scene and discovered that an unknown driver had backed into a light standard, which had knocked it over onto overhead power lines," stated a news release from OPP. 

Police said the driver "fled the scene." 

"Grey Bruce OPP is releasing a photo in hopes that a member of the public will be able to identify the driver," states the news release.
