A commercial vehicle blitz Monday in Collingwood resulted in 65 charges being laid.

Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP and Huronia West OPP were mainly targeting vehicles not in compliance during the reduced-load season.

Charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. They include the following: overweight charges (44), mechanical violations (four), moving violations (three), and other violations (14). One vehicle was taken out of service for having a “major defect,” police said in a news release.
