Police continue to investigate call about 'robbery in progress' downtown (6 photos)

Police say there is no evidence to suggest that such an incident took place

Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have now re-opened Hurontario Street after it was closed down in relation to an incident in downtown Collingwood.  

At approximately 11:10 a.m. today officers were dispatched to a robbery in progress at a financial institution located on Hurontario Street in the Town of Collingwood. Officers entered the premise and found that no such incident had taken place however, based on the caller's information officers closed down Hurontario Street to ensure that there was no threat to public safety. 

Investigation is ongoing to attempt to locate the caller.
