Police called to Canadian Tire for man not wearing mask

A Collingwood man is facing charges for trespassing and assaulting an officer

Collingwood and The Blue Mountains OPP has confirmed officers were called to Canadian Tire yesterday to assist with a complaint about a man not wearing a face covering. 

OPP were called to the Balsam Street store at 12:30 p.m. on April 8. 

OPP communications officer, acting Sgt. Martin Hachey said he didn't have all the details from the police report yet. 

However, he confirmed a 52-year-old man from Collingwood was charged with failure to leave a premises when directed under the Trespass to Property Act, and with assaulting a peace officer under the Criminal Code of Canada.
