Police ask for help finding stolen trailers and tractors

Two separate thefts in Grey Highlands this weekend have OPP asking residents for surveillance footage to help track down the stolen equipment

The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating two separate thefts of trailers and farm tractors stolen from businesses on Highway 10 in Grey Highlands this week.

According to two OPP news releases, officers were called on Nov. 10 at 8:53 a.m. to one business on Highway 10 reporting the theft of a flat-bed trailer loaded with farm equipment to be shipped out. Video surveillance showed the theft took place Nov. 10 at 3:01 a.m. when a transport truck with sleeper unit hooked up to the trailer and drove away with it. The value of the stolen goods exceeds $150,000.

"It is believed that these items drove through the village of Flesherton shortly after the incident occurred," states the police news release.

A few days later, police were called for another theft of a trailer that took place between Nov. 11 at 5 p.m. and Nov. 13 at 8 a.m. In this case, the trailer that was taken was a 2009 black JDJ ADP two-axle, 18-foot flat deck trailer with the Ontario marker #X7755C.

OPP officers investigating these thefts are appealing to the public for information to assist the investigations.
