Phoney $50 bills circulating in Collingwood/TBM, warn police

Police say they have received five reports of counterfeit money in the last two days

Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to warn area businesses of the use of counterfeit Canadian currency as officers have received five reports of counterfeit money used in our area in the last two days.

The counterfeit currency is described as being $50.00 Canadian currency bills and the passers used them to make in store purchases. The investigations are ongoing at this time however officers wish to advise area retailers to be aware of these recent incidents and for more information on how to check and report suspected counterfeit money please view the following links.
