OPP seek public assistance locating missing Wasaga Beach man

On July 7, 2020 at 6:51 a.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a missing person from an address on George Avenue in the Town of Wasaga Beach. 

The male is identified as Richard Kocik, 54 years of age of Wasaga Beach, Ont. Richard was last seen by his family at approximately 11 p.m. on the evening of July 6, 2020. It is believed that he left the residence on foot, and a clothing description could not be determined. Richard is described as: 

  • 5'11" tall
  • medium build
  • goatee with mustache
  • shoulder-length salt-and-pepper coloured hair
  • footprint tattoo on his left arm, a heart tattoo on his left chest, and a family crest tattoo on his left shoulder

OPP Aviation Services, and members from the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Central Region Canine (K9) have been in the area since July 7 on foot and ATV. A large police presence still remains in the area. 

The family is concerned for his well-being. Anyone with information or surveillance footage regarding this search is asked to contact the Huronia West OPP Detachment at 705-429-3575.
