OPP reports numerous thefts from vehicles in Wasaga Beach

Members of the Huronia West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are urging residents to take precautions in response to an increase of reported overnight and early morning thefts from motor vehicles.

Huronia West OPP has received numerous reports of thefts from vehicles that occurred between Dec. 1 and 7, 2022, in the Town of Wasaga Beach. Unlocked vehicles are targeted for loose change, sunglasses, scratch tickets, garage door openers and other personal or valuable items.

The OPP is urging all vehicle owners to lock their vehicles and remove valuables or risk losing them.

Residents are asked to check their security cameras and report any suspicious persons or activity to police.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or leave an anonymous tip online at ontariocrimestoppers.ca, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
