OPP investigate after 'suspicious men' reported in Alliston, Wasaga Beach

TOWN OF WASAGA BEACH, CLEARVIEW AND SPRINGWATER TOWNSHIPS - Members of the Huronia West and Nottawasaga Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have responded to several calls about a pair of suspicious males knocking on doors.

On Jan. 18, 2021, police responded to a residential area in Alliston. The caller advised police that they had confronted a male in their driveway who advised he was conducting a survey in the neighbourhood. The male departed while being questioned by the homeowner. The male left in a waiting white SUV.

On Jan. 19, 2021, police in Wasaga Beach responded to three separate reports by callers who reported a male holding a clipboard to be knocking on their doors. During all three of these encounters, the male asked the resident if the vehicle in their driveway was for sale.

Male #1: White male, in his 30s, blonde hair, slim, wearing a turtleneck type mask, a Roots hoodie, carrying a clipboard

Male #2: Older male, black/grey beard, glasses. Observed driving the SUV.

Vehicle: White or cream SUV, possibly a Ford Edge

When you see something suspicious, try to get the best description of the vehicle and parties involved, including license plate if possible to assist police in their investigation. Don't hesitate to call police - promptness promotes prevention.
