Passenger airlifted to Toronto hospital with life-threatening injuries following head-on crash

Provincial police are investigating a crash in Springwater Township that sent five to hospital, one of whom went to a Toronto-area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

SPRINGWATER TWP. — Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently on scene of a serious two-vehicle head-on collision on Crossland Road in the Township of Springwater.

On Feb. 20, 2022, just before 1:30 p.m., Huronia West OPP and emergency services responded to a serious two-vehicle head-on collision involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a passenger vehicle on Crossland Road, between Flos Road 4 and Flos Road 6, in the Township of Springwater.

One passenger was airlifted by Ornge to a Toronto-area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver and two other passengers of the same vehicle were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, and the driver, and lone occupant, of the other vehicle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Crossland Road will remain closed, between Flos Road 4 and Flos Road 6, for several hours as OPP technical collision investigators and reconstructionists complete their investigation.
