A Huronia West OPP officer was kept busy by area drivers earlier this week after stopping three different people within a four-hour period for stunt driving.

The stops were all made on Highway 26 near Fairgrounds Road between Wasaga Beach and Collingwood.

At approximately 9:50 p.m., July 17, the officer stopped a driver from Innisfil who was travelling 146 kilometres per hour in a 90-km/h zone. The 24-year-old Innisfil man was charged with stunt driving.

At approximately 10:45 p.m., a 32-year-old driver was stopped for going 155 km/h in a 90-km/h zone. The Orillia man was also charged with stunt driving.

The third stop was made around 1:30 a.m. on July 18. The driver, who police say initially failed to stop, but was identified and stopped with the help of another police service, was clocked going 188 km/h in a 90-km/h zone.

A 17-year-old driver from Barrie, who had a G1 licence, was ultimately charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, stunt driving, Class G1 licence holder driving at an unlawful hour, Class G1 licence holder unaccompanied by qualified driver, and three counts of failing to stop for police.

All three drivers had their driver's licence suspended for 30 days and their vehicles impounded for 14 days.
