More than 100 commercial vehicle drivers charged in area in one day

Huronia West OPP laid more than 100 charges against drivers of commercial vehicles Thursday.

Police conducted several traffic stops, resulting in 93 commercial motor vehicle tickets and 14 other traffic-related violations, for a total of 107 charges.

Twelve drivers of truck tractors with semi-trailers hauling aggregate to the Edenvale Airport faced charges for being overweight on tires, having defective tires, overweight axles, and expired plates.

Fourteen tickets were issued for various traffic offences not related to commercial vehicles.
