Meaford woman charged with stunt driving

Police say the accused was driving more than 50km/h over the speed limit

MEAFORD – On Aug. 29, 2020 at 8:06 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a (grey) car travelling eastbound on Hwy 26, Meaford at more than 50 kilometres per hour (km/h) over the posted 80 km/h speed limit.   

Grey Bruce OPP stopped and charged the driver a 20-year-old, from Meaford, with stunt driving - 50km/h or more over posted speed limit, section 172(1) Highway Traffic Act.  

The accused was served a Provincial Summons for a court date in Owen Sound Provincial Court, their driver's licence was suspended for seven days and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
