Meaford man facing drug, weapon charges

A Meaford man is facing drug and weapon charges after being arrested Wednesday.

Grey Bruce OPP, with the assistance of the Owen Sound Police Service, made the arrest after receiving reports about the location of the suspect, who was wanted on numerous outstanding warrants.

Police seized suspected fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, an imitation handgun, a stun gun, brass knuckles, and Canadian currency.

Darren Gregory Kennaway, 42, has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking, failure to comply with a probation order, three counts of failure to comply with a release order, three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts of unauthorized possession of a weapon.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
