Huronia West OPP laid 259 charges and took five impaired drivers off the road during the Labour Day long weekend, according to a news release.
There was an increased police presence in Wasaga Beach, Clearview and Springwater over the weekend.
Numerous charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act, the Liquor Licence and Control Act, and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
Police thanked “most road users that obey laws and assist in keeping our roads safe.”
