Police thanked members of the public who assisted by sharing social media posts during the investigation.

Original story:

A senior from Grey Highlands has been missing for nearly a month, and police confirm the investigation is ongoing.

The man was last seen in Markdale on Jan. 28 at 7:30 a.m. He hasn't been seen by nor has he contacted family or police since then.

Police sent out a news release on Jan. 29, announcing the man was missing and sharing a description of him.

A second update from police came on Feb. 8, indicating he might have been picked up near the Markdale Tim Hortons by a pick-up truck and that he could be making his way to Ottawa.

Const. Nick Wilson of the Grey Bruce OPP, said while it is possible the man made his way to Ottawa, there is nothing concrete to substantiate that right now.

Police have already spoken with the pick-up truck driver.

"It is believed that (the missing man) made his way to the Highway 10 and Highway 89 intersection just east of Shelburne and that is currently his last known location," said Wilson in an email.

The latest update from police came on Feb. 24 with a new photograph of the man, but no further details on his disappearance.

He is a white male described as:

  • 185 centimetres (6'1") tall
  • 68 kilograms (150 pounds) with a slim build
  • short grey hair, balding
  • beard and moustache
  • green eyes, and wears glasses.
