STAYNER - On Oct. 7, 2020 shortly before 12 p.m., members of the OPP Provincial Joint forces Cannabis Enforcement Team with the assistance of the Huronia West OPP Offender Management Unit executed a Cannabis Act search warrant at a residence in Stayner that was being used as a cannabis online provider business called Chronic The Hedge Hog.

Upon the initial execution, officers located six adults within the residence. Located during the search of the residence/business was approximately $80,297 worth of cannabis products including marijuana, shatter, cannabis resin and cannabis edibles.

Michael Hutchinson (age 33) of Stayner, Ont. was arrested and charged with:
    •    Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling
    •    Possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution

Lisa Miller (age 52) of Collingwood, Ont. was arrested and charged with:
    •    Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling
    •    Possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution

David Varley (age 49) of Stayner, Ont. was arrested and charged with:
    •    Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling
    •    Possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution

Debby Varley (age 53) of Stayner, Ont. was arrested and charged with:
    •    Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling
    •    Possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution

Ashley MacIntyre (age 24) of Wasaga, Ont. was arrested and charged with:
    •    Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling
    •    Possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution

Christopher Hutchinson (age 36) of Stayner, Ont. was arrested and charged with:
    •    Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling
    •    Possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution

Michael Hutchinson was held for bail. The remaining accused were released on a Promise to Appear and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on Dec. 15, 2020.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.
