Wasaga teen killed in Clearview crash (updated)

Police say vehicle was travelling northbound on Simcoe Road 10 when driver lost control and struck a hydro pole Monday evening

CLEARVIEW TWP. - Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Clearview Township Fire Department and Georgian Ambulance, responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Simcoe Road 10 near Sunnidale Concession 3 in the Township of Clearview on Monday, Nov. 30, 2020 at approximately 5:04 p.m.

A motor vehicle travelling northbound and lost control, striking a hydro pole.

The driver of the vehicle was transported by paramedics to Royal Victoria Hospital but succumbed to injuries sustained as a result of the collision and was pronounced deceased. 

The deceased has been identified as Duncan McDonald, 19 years old, of Wasaga Beach.

Simcoe County Road 10 was closed for several hours while the OPP Technical Traffic Collision (TTCI) attended the scene to assist with the investigation. The road has since been reopened.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
